FAQ

Common questions

Do I need safety fencing?
For most collaborative applications, no fencing is required. The ABB CRB 1910-10 is a true collaborative robot with integrated torque sensors in all six joints that stop it on contact, certified to Category 3, PL d under ISO 10218 and ISO/TS 15066. As with any welding cell, a site-specific risk assessment is required before operation to confirm your specific application can run barrier-free — this is the operator's responsibility, and our optional Setup & Training day can help you complete it.
How difficult is it to program?
ABB's FlexPendant uses graphical Wizard programming — most operators are running their first weld program within hours. No coordinates, no code required. Add our optional Setup & Operator Training day and we'll train your team on-site.
What materials and processes does it weld?
The Kemppi Master M 358 handles MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding. Suitable for mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. Capable of single-pass and multi-pass welds, butt joints, fillet joints, lap joints, and round/circular seams.
How does payment work?
All prices are +GST. Payment runs in stages, like ordering a machine tool. (1) Pay a $2,000 + GST ($2,200) deposit online today to lock your price and order slot — fully refundable until we order your parts, then credited to your final invoice. (2) We confirm your specs and invoice 50% to place the order with ABB and Kemppi. (3) The remaining 50% (less your $2,000 deposit) is due before the goods are released from our Arundel factory. Prices are Ex Works Arundel; freight is additional and can be arranged at cost — or bundle delivery with our Setup & Training day.
Do I need setup or training?
The MexxBot is essentially plug-and-play — if you already know ABB OmniCore, power it up and get to work. If your team is new to ABB, add our optional Delivery + Setup & Operator Training Day ($1,950 +GST): we deliver on our own truck, position and power up the cell, run test welds on your material, and train your operators for a full 8-hour day. Included within 100 km of our Arundel factory; further afield, travel is quoted separately. You can also add it later.
What warranty do I get?
The ABB CRB 1910-10 carries ABB's standard 12-month warranty from commissioning. The Kemppi welding package carries Kemppi's standard warranty. Mexx Engineering provides ongoing Australian-based support for the integrated system.
